HOW TO MAKE IT…

Pick out your favorite color and take a substantial amount out in the tray/color palette. You can even mix colors to create one that you don’t have! Once you are ready with your color, pick up your block and use it as a stamp… Dip it face down in paint and make sure the entire surface is properly covered. Then, carefully lift the block and start stamping on your handmade paper sheet (spread the sheet on a flat surface with the corners weighed down so that it does not move). You can create various patterns out of your block by stamping in a linear, diagonal or circular manner. You can vary the color on one sheet. We have only used pink here, but, you can totally run wild with your color choice and number of colors you use on one sheet! If there is any rule you need to follow, it’s just this, ART IS FUN! AND THERE ARE NO RULES! Plus, your prints don’t need to be perfect… It’s handmade and a little error just makes it more authentic!

Once you are done stamping the sheet, set it aside in the sun to dry. After a little while, the color will be dry enough to not smudge on contact… Which is when you spray it with a fixer/varnish to make it secure and make sure it does not stick to other surfaces or chips off. Your sheet is now ready to be wrapped around your gifts. Fold it around your gift boxes and use cello tape to secure it.

Now, take that jute rope and tie it around the box like you would tie a ribbon. Make a bow knot and add some flowers/green leaves to add an earthy charm to it. You can even use a nice body mist/perfume and create an entire ambiance around your gift. Surprise your loved ones with these pretty packages and make the celebrations even more special. Something people will remember you by…

HOW TO MAKE IT…

Just like we did with the packaging, you need to prepare your color in the palette and pick out small size stamps appropriate for a greeting card. This time, you can even use a flat brush to apply color to your block since the size is small. You can create multitude of cards using block print borders, central motifs, abstract layouts… Basically, let your creativity run free! Just make sure you leave out some space to write your best wishes with a felt tip pen! In case, you forget to leave space or got lost in stamping to your heart’s desire, you can flip the card and write the message on the back side! Also, don’t forget to fix your block print card with a varnish spray and later a perfumed spray to make it smell as divine as it looks. Send this greeting along with fresh flowers to your loved ones for a memory they will forever cherish!
