New in Community: Stuti Ashok Gupta
Stuti Ashok Gupta, is barely 24 years old and is doing wonders in her life already. While most of us feel lost and confused about our career decisions at this age, Stuti is a budding entrepreneur, National Head of an NGO- ‘Gramiksha’, and has also been a speaker on TEDx at LNCT, Bhopal.
How did we meet Stuti? So, she wore a Vajor dress to her Tedx talk and that is how we stumbled across her. To our delight, there is so much to know about this woman!
A psychology student, Stuti utilizes her learnings to read the mindset of people around her and how it will help her become better at her endeavors. It was at the age of 17 when she started working as a social worker with Gramiksha, an NGO that she started, that works to mobilize youth for children’s education with the aim of teaching academics with a newer perspective. She has recently joined her family business, Amrutam, a herbal products company to re-brand it and widen its horizon.
An avid traveller, she was introduced with the idea ‘Capsule Beds’ during her Goa trip and after much deliberation, decided to open one of her own chains of backpacker hostels, ‘The Lost Tribe’. She wanted to bring back the whole idea of backpacking and the essence of travelling in its true form. Where one stays away from all the hustle-bustle of the city, and gets a chance to explore themselves amongst the wilderness of the beautiful surroundings.
As much as we believe in building a strong community we can stand by and truly call our own, Stuti is also passionate about making communities work in a powerful way so as to bring about a change in our lives and in others.
At her recent talk at TEDx, she spoke about ‘The Power of Being Lost’ and how strongly she feels it is important to be and feel lost in ones’ life at some point of time to know where one is or ought to be heading… “How there are times when we feel so lost in our lives, we don’t know what we are going to do next anymore, and sometimes we are doing something that we are a misfit for. How has this feeling of being lost helped me grow and become who I am, and how a leader, a celebrity, or any successful person have felt lost in their lives at one point of time and rediscovered themselves eventually.” – Stuti Ashok Gupta
