Book Review: The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo
Books are the one place you can go lose yourself without actually having to go anywhere! It is the one escape that you can achieve right from the cozy sanctuary of your bedroom, while on transit, caught up in a crowd or any corner of the world for that matter. Hence, we decided to work some magic with a book genius Chitra from mybookjacket (Instagram handle) to bring you a book review. See what she has to say below…
You’re about to say, “What kind of name is that, it’s only done for marketing” and you’ll be right. You’ll also be wrong. The title of the book has a significant point to it, which you will know in the last chapter. Amy Schumer is a brilliant comedian with a sense of humour that some get and some don’t. But if you are among those who gets her sense of humour, this book is not to be missed.
Filled with letters to her body parts, apologies to random people she’s freaked out and of her abusive relationships, Amy manages to present everything with a humorous angle and it makes a bitter pill easier to swallow. She is unabashedly herself and cannot give two hoots about what you think of that and this is a quality all of us must have.
Whether it be confessing her love for being the centre of attention or talking about two girls who were shot dead in a movie theatre while watching her movie, trainwreck, she talks about it all with an ease that’s hard to find. At the end of it, you’ll find that you’re a fan of hers, even if you could barely tolerate her before.
So folks, this could be the next book you pick. It is not the sort to give you a wonderland to escape to, but, it sure is something to give you a mental boost and inspire you to be unapologetically you!
